Recital: Optional but recommended
Prerequisite: This is an intermediate level class so at least 1 session of bellydance class is required or the consent of the instructor
It is no exaggeration to say that Jamila Salimpour started the tribal belly dance movement in fact she started the belly dance movement in America.. She also was the first to actually name movements and create the bellydance vocabulary still used today all over the world.
Bal Anat style and dance troupe, was created in 1968 in San Francisco and included Algerian water glass dancing, Tunisian pot dancing, tray dancing and a variety of Middle Eastern and North African dance styles that bellydancers still use extensively.
This Intermediate class is for ALL bellydancers but you must have at least 1 full session of bellydance experience.
You will learn the very roots of belly dance in addition to a choreography to assist you in putting it all together.
Zills (finger cymbals) are also required and are available in our store. No experience with zills is necessary but any epxerience is good.
